Malaz Foundation for Women’s Support has concluded the second and final training of the “Take Your Step” component, implemented under the “From Protection to Change” program. The two-day training brought together 30 women working on a daily-wage basis in the agricultural and industrial sectors, as part of the Foundation’s efforts to strengthen women’s awareness of their rights and support their ability to address challenges and problems they may encounter in the workplace.
The training focused on moving participants from simply recognizing their rights and identifying workplace problems toward acquiring practical steps they can take when they experience a violation or encounter a problem in the workplace. Participants were trained to assess situations, identify the nature of the problem, and determine the appropriate course of action, beginning with documenting the incident, followed by identifying the appropriate intervention pathway, and ultimately knowing which entities they can turn to for support or to file a complaint.
