The “Malaz for Women's Support” Foundation extends its heartfelt congratulations to the workers of Egypt on the occasion of Labor Day, in recognition of their vital role in supporting the process of comprehensive development and building the new republic.
In this context, the Foundation emphasizes that working women are a cornerstone of the Egyptian labor market and active partners in achieving economic and social growth, having demonstrated their capacity for leadership and productivity across various sectors, despite the complex challenges they face, which require greater support and empowerment.
The Malaz Foundation commends the efforts made by the Egyptian government in recent years to promote women’s rights and empower them economically and socially, within the framework of Egypt’s Vision 2030, which has placed women’s empowerment at the heart of its priorities, recognizing it as a key driver of sustainable development. This vision has been reflected in numerous initiatives and policies aimed at supporting women’s participation in the labor market, achieving equal opportunities, and strengthening their legal and social protection.
The Foundation also commends the progress made in legislative and institutional frameworks aimed at providing a safer and more equitable work environment for women, including efforts to combat harassment and violence in the workplace and to expand social protection, particularly for women in the informal sectors.
On this day, the Foundation reaffirms that women’s empowerment cannot be achieved without ensuring a safe work environment free from all forms of discrimination and violence, and without upholding the principle of equal pay and equal opportunities, thereby enhancing working women’s stability and economic security.
The “Malaz for Women’s Support” Foundation calls for continued coordination and integration among state institutions, civil society, and the private sector to support women’s empowerment policies and establish a culture of decent work, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals and Egypt’s Vision 2030.
