Malaz for Women Support Foundation announced that it has officially obtained legal registration, marking the beginning of a new phase of human rights and community work in Egypt. The organization places the protection of women and girls from violence and discrimination at the top of its priorities, alongside safeguarding children’s rights from all forms of abuse, within a vision aimed at building a more just and equitable society.

In its official announcement statement, the foundation affirmed that “Malaz” was established in response to an urgent societal need for a rights-based entity that advocates for women’s and children’s issues, and works to empower the most vulnerable groups through effective legal, developmental, and community-based tools. The organization emphasized that its mission is rooted in the belief that human dignity is a fundamental right that is non-negotiable.

The foundation clarified that its scope of work includes defending human rights and promoting the values of citizenship and equality, in addition to empowering women economically, politically, and administratively, and ensuring their effective participation in decision-making processes.

Malaz also places combating violence against women at the forefront of its priorities, including domestic violence in its various forms (physical, psychological, verbal, and economic), sexual violence and harassment, and cyber violence. Furthermore, it seeks to confront harmful practices such as child marriage and female genital mutilation, and address forms of discrimination in education and inheritance.
