Malaz Foundation for Women’s Support has entered a new phase in its work on women’s precarious employment, following the launch of field interventions informed by the findings of its policy paper on the conditions of women workers in Egypt’s agricultural and industrial sectors, as part of the “From Protection to Change” program.
The program seeks to examine, in practice, the gaps identified through the research process and address them through direct interventions with women, while listening to their experiences and documenting the barriers that limit their ability to access their rights and protection mechanisms.
As part of the program, the first training was implemented under the title “Know Your Rights” over two days, with the participation of women and girls engaged in various forms of precarious work, including daily workers, agricultural workers, factory workers, and women engaged in temporary, seasonal, and informal employment, as well as women with limited literacy.
