Malaz Foundation for Women’s Support has announced a new phase in its work on the issue of precarious work among women, beginning the implementation of field-based interventions informed by the findings of its policy paper on the conditions of women workers in Egypt’s agricultural and industrial sectors. This work is being carried out under the “From Protection to Change” program, which seeks to test and address the gaps identified through field-based research.
The program’s first training, entitled “Know Your Rights,” was conducted over two days, bringing together women and girls engaged in different forms of precarious work, including daily wage work and employment in agriculture and factories. The training was designed as a practical intervention, addressing issues related to wages, working conditions, insurance, and social protection.
